"It impacts the way you deal with yourself, It can even manifest in the body when you choose not to deal with it"

- Women of Faith Film

Sherrell is a trauma-informed wellness educator in the Washington D.C. metro area. During her enlistment in the Army, Sherrell began experiencing excruciating back pain. Upon receiving a diagnosis of arthritis her doctor also recommended yoga. That recommendation and a recommitment to her faith transformed her life and opened the door to better health and well-being. She completed her first yoga training in 2010 and since that time Sherrell has been offering community and corporate wellness programs in an effort to educate others about the importance of physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Sherrell shares yoga, meditations, challenges, and courses with those around the world via her MindBody FAITH app. She shares weekly content on her YouTube channel, and she is a contributor to the global meditation app, Insight Timer.

She is registered with the National Yoga Alliance and is an “Experienced” yoga teacher having taught over 1,000 hours of yoga, E-RYT-200. She teaches various movement modalities such as Hatha, vinyasa, restorative, yin yoga, and targeted stretching. She has completed training and certifications for iRest® Level 1 meditation teacher informed by the teachings of Dr. Richard Miller and iRest Institute, Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery taught by the Veterans Yoga Project (VYP), Restorative Yoga for Race-Based Traumatic Stress Injury informed by the teachings of Dr. Gail Parker, and Christian & Biblical meditation informed by the teachings of Dr. K.D Weaver and the Sleeping with God Meditation Center.

During her free time, Sherrell volunteers with various organizations. She serves as a certified Lay Servant with Baltimore-Washington Conference United Methodist Church, serves on the board of the Veterans Yoga Project (VYP), and volunteers with the Arthritis Foundation and the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
